Welch LLP won a Marketing Achievement award from the Association of Accounting Marketing (AAM) in the category of Corporate Social Responsibility at their annual summit on June 11, 2012 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Welch received the award for their 1st Annual Beach Soccer Tournament held on September 10, 2011 to benefit their charity of choice, Bruyère Foundation. Last year, the tournament drew more than 250 participants, 24 teams and raised over $27,000 for this worthy cause. Bruyère Foundation, part of Bruyère Continuing Care is a champion for aging Canadians and those requiring continuing care to help them remain as healthy and independent as possible through compassionate care, research, education and advocacy.
“This tournament allows us to create a more focused impact on our community by supporting a charity which has touched many of our staff and their families in different ways,” said Garth Steele, Tax Partner with Welch’s Ottawa office. “We are very proud and excited to be recognized by AAM for this event.” The 2nd Annual Beach Soccer Tournament will be held on September 15th, 2012 at Britannia Beach in Ottawa, Ontario.
AAM presented 38 Marketing Achievement Awards to 24 different firms from the U.S. and Canada at the 2012 AAM Summit in partnership with the AICPA Practitioners Symposium and TECH+ Conference held in Las Vegas, Nevada on Jun 11. The conference drew over 2,000 participants.
