In February, Conner Ash launched its new print advertising campaign, “When Is Big Too Big?” that will be featured in the St. Louis Business Journal and will run through January 2013. These ads will focus on our hands on approach, Raving Fans service and value billing.
Evelyn Hubbard, Business Services department, was one of the many greeted with breakfast on Valentine’s Day, as Chef Howard Rosen showed his appreciation to the associates by whipping up made-to-order omelets as part of his yearly tradition.
The true artists at Conner Ash were able to shine as they were given the chance to show what art meant to them during this year’s Art & Education Council Campaign. Conner Ash raised $1,199 which will help support the arts for children and young adults in the St. Louis Metro area.
On February 24, Assurance Services Manager, Alicia Drouant, ABV, was a guest lecturer for a course on Closely-Held Businesses and Succession Planning within the Masters of Laws in Taxation program at Washington University School of Law. Alicia introduced students to basic business valuation concepts and methodologies to enable them to be informed consumers and readers of business valuation reports in their future practices.
Michelle Dowell, Business Services, organized a social networking happy hour with Lathrop & Gage LLP in February. The event was focused on developing professional relationships in an effort for the young professionals at the respective organizations to get to know each other as their careers progress. Conner Ash plans on resuming these events after the conclusion of busy season.
To get a jump start on our friends in London, Blick Rothenberg in particular, the weekly Olympic Games continued at Conner Ash with an origami frog race in honor of the Leap Year. Teams were asked to construct a paper frog and race to the finish line for gold. Bob Klutho proudly displays the almost perfect frog he created in preparation for the race.
The dogs of Conner Ash were asked to lend a paw during this year’s busy season as employees were joined by their canines for the annual “Bring Your Dog to Work Day” on Saturday, March 17th.
Howard Rosen was recently featured in the popular Wise Bread Personal Finance Blog, a community of bloggers dedicated to helping you live large on a small budget which is frequently featured in U.S. News & World Report and a number of other leading news outlets. Howard offered insight and tips for the publication’s latest article entitled, “Surprising Charitable Tax Deductions.”
On March 23, 2012, two teams from Conner Ash supported the Foster & Adoptive Care Coalition at their fourth annual trivia night. While being quizzed over a wide variety of categories far outside their comfort zone of public accounting, Brian Hantsbarger wasn’t afraid to let his hair down in celebration of his team’s spring themed table. Shawna Harris Colbert, who serves on the Junior Coalition Board, encouraged her coworker’s knowledge to be tested for a good cause.
