Borland Benefield, P.C. (Birmingham) and Lovoy, Summerville & Shelton Announce Merger

Borland Benefield, P.C. recently announced a merger with Lovoy, Summerville & Shelton. Both based in Birmingham, the merger puts the staff count at 45 and positions the firm with greater footprint in the Southeast region. The merger adds offices in both Florence and Auburn. The combined firms will retain the name Borland Benefield.

“This merger will give our united firms the ability to serve our clients with a deeper base of knowledge and greater geographic coverage throughout the region,” said Jeffrey D. Chandler, President and Managing Director of Borland Benefield.

He noted that the merger gives Borland Benefield the ability to serve clients with global resources through affiliations with BKR International. In addition, the joined firms will utilize leading-edge technology including paperless accounting and shared services among offices and clients on a cloud-based server.

“Relationships matter,” added Lloyd Shelton, Shareholder. “Not only among our clients but within the firm, too. It’s important to us that Borland Benefield not only does good work for our clients but is also a good place to work.”

“Every good business values their clients, and we’re no different. However, we believe the best businesses look for new solutions that serve their clients in better ways and that’s what we’ve done,” added Chandler.

“We are excited about the merging of these two great companies and are certain we will serve both the clients of Borland Benefield and Lovoy, Summerville & Shelton even better,” Chandler said. “That’s a goal we work toward everyday.”
